Tahaddi · How to scanScan a card, hear the passage.

Every card has a square code. Scan it and the phone plays the passage or reads the clue. Here is how, on any phone.

In a game: scan from Tahaddi

  1. 1Tap Scan the cardOpen the game on the phone and tap Scan the card. The first time, the phone asks to use the camera: tap Allow.
  2. 2Hold the card in the squareHold the card about a hand's length from the phone, with its code inside the square on the screen.
  3. 3The card opens by itselfThe passage plays, and the questions follow one at a time.

Scanning from the game keeps the whole game in one place, on one screen.

Open the game

The phone's own camera works too

iPhone
Open the Camera, point it at the code, and tap the yellow link that appears.
Android
Open the Camera or Google Lens, point it at the code, and tap the link.

The card opens in the browser and plays just the same. Each scan may open a new tab, though, so in a game, scan from Tahaddi. Playing in the installed app on an iPhone? The phone's camera opens cards in Safari, outside the app, so scan from the app.

No camera? Type the code

The code is printed at the foot of every card, on the right: five letters and numbers, like qb1p5. Type it under the Scan button and tap Open.

If the camera does not open

iPhone, in Safari
Tap aA in the address bar, then Website Settings, and set Camera to Allow.
Android, in Chrome
Tap the icon to the left of the address, then Permissions, and allow the Camera.

If it still will not open, type the code: the game works just the same.

For a quick read

  • Good light, and no lamp shining back off the card.
  • A hand's length away: too close and the phone cannot focus.
  • Hold the card flat and still for a moment.
  • The recitation needs the internet.
