Scan the first card
One phone, held by the Checker: the player on the left of whoever is playing. It plays each card and asks its questions. It keeps no score: the cards and pearl cards on the table do.

The game on one card
- Pick a pile. The player on your left, the Checker, scans your card.
- Name the surah and take a pearl card.
- Meccan or Medinan? Right, and take another. Wrong costs nothing.
- Stop, or go for the card: recite on, the juz, the ayah number.
- All three right, and the card is yours.
- Miss, and Tahaddi goes round to the left: the next player may try.
- When the last pearl card is taken, finish the round. The most points wins.
